Vaudeville for Flute anad Piano, Op. 52
11' (2010)
flauto - piano
Concert composition for flute and piano.
Author's word:
"Vaudeville for flute and piano was written in 2010. It is one of a number of compositions in which I pay tribute to European spiritual and cultural values and ask the listener questions about the meaning and permanence of these values. The composition was premiered in 2011 by Jan Ostrý and Vojtěch Spurný. They also presented it at the Days of Contemporary Music festival in 2014 and recorded it for Czech Radio in the same year. In the meantime, the composition has attracted the attention of other performers, for example, in the autumn of 2015 it was presented at a concert of the Presence, Society for Contemporary Music, by the ensemble Duo BENE. Most recently, it has been recorded for the author's album Playful Flutes (2024) interpreted by Kristina Vaculová (flute) and Pavla Reiffersová (piano). It is a six-movement suite. By the word vaudeville I refer to melody, melodiousness and a certain playfulness. In addition to playful and melodious movements, the composition also contains more serious parts, but playfulness and melodiousness prevail."
